It just so happens that our New Beginnings program is scheduled to be held on Leap Day this year: February 29th. I thought it would be fun to plan the evening around this theme of “taking a leap”, and thereby jumping into Personal Progress with renewed enthusiasm. I’d love to meet with our Beehives turning 12 this year and take some photos of them leaping, and introduce them by talking about things that make them “jump for joy”. There is also a leap of faith involved when young women first begin working on experiences and projects, that the time and effort they put into these things will reap a great harvest of spiritual growth and understanding.
These origami jumping frogs make great invites.
They can be made in all the value colors, and then used as decoration on the refreshment table as well. I have two versions you can download: one with the date and time, and one without. Print on cardstock to make the best leapers.

One last thought about taking leaps of faith: When we stretch ourselves to try something new, when we jump out of comfort zones, we rise to greater heights and have moments of beauty and brilliance that otherwise may not have happened. We arise and shine forth!

Cute ideas! We have just a regular class activity that night, but I think I’m going to do a Leap Day party–have fun with a frog theme and have a spiritual part about Leaps of Faith as well. 🙂

I love these quotes: “Creation brings deep satisfaction and fulfillment. That is your opportunity in this life and your destiny in the life to come. Sisters, trust and rely on the Spirit. As you take the normal opportunities of your daily life and create something of beauty and helpfulness, you improve not only the world around you but also the world within you.” When I prayerfully begin a project, I feel a deep sense of gratitude and enthusiasm for the gospel, and eventually ideas will begin to flow. I love feeling a part of the Lord’s work in my own small, crafty way!
I love all of your visiting teaching ideas, I use them monthly! however, I ALSO love your YW ideas, I am in primary, so I don’t get to use your ideas for YW, but I LOVE the idea of leaping pictures and frog cupcakes for a leap day party with my kiddos! THANK YOU! oh, and I also LOVE the talk by pres Uchtdorf. so good!

Loved it! Frogs have such a meaning with our Young Women. They have been taught to FullyRelyOnGod. This will be a nice tie in to their existing F.R.O.G. love! Thanks!

Thanks for the great idea. I was a little slow getting to the Dollar store for the frogs. Now I have called every store in the valley, and they are all out. Any ideas for a fun substitute.
A frog candy or chocolate sucker could be really fun. Bag it and tag it, and it would make a great takeaway!

I loved the leap frog invitations so much I am using that idea for my daughters birthday since it is on Leap Day. I doubled the size of the leap frogs to be bigger for a birthday invite. The video clip you had was very helpful.
