I don’t teach the young women lesson every Sunday, so the following are ideas from various, but not all lessons:
Lesson 1: mirror cut-out heart; “Young women, look into the mirror of eternity. Remember who you are! See yourself as our Heavenly Father sees you. You are elect. You are of noble birth. Don’t compromise your divine inheritance.”
Lesson 3: Following Christ
Lesson 4: Seeking the Spirit; a worksheet based on Elder Bednar’s talk, “Receive the Holy Ghost”
Lesson 7 & 8: Homemaking and Divine Roles of Women, includes tutorial for an “exploding” purse
Lesson 10: Supporting Family Members – build a Jenga tower to discuss ways to build a strong family
Lesson 17: The Purpose of Covenants and Ordinances – flower power
Lesson 19: Personal Records
Lesson 24: Invitation to Prayer and Meditation
Lesson 27: “Studying and pondering the scriptures are keys to salvation and happiness” bookmark
Lesson 28: Resisting Sin – the lures of the adversary
Lesson 33: Avoiding Degrading Media Influences
Lesson 34: Worthy Thoughts
Lesson 37: Caring for our Physical Bodies
I need a good idea for lesson 5
Emily, another member of our YW presidency taught this lesson last week. She invited 2 sisters from the ward to talk about their experiences in the Church, and things that have brought them joy. Then we brainstormed for the rest of the time about things that bring the girls joy. We had a great discussion, and got to know each better other through some of the comments. She also gave the girls a few minutes to write in their journals. It was simple, but great. Susan, from Mothers Who Know, shared some great ideas here: http://mothers-who-know.blogspot.com/2012/01/finding-joy-in-our-divine-potential.html
Thanks for all this great ideas, I love this website and I will follow you to share
Love love love your site! Thanks for posting all your brilliant ideas! I check your site first when planning my lesson for the upcoming Sunday. 🙂
Love your site!!! We are going to do the same new beginnings idea, and I was wondering if you had any good ideas for decorations?
We probably won’t be having lots of decorations – just the refreshment table with the frog cupcakes and frog plushies.

I’d love to know if you come up with a fun idea, though!
Hi- Do you have any ideas for lesson 26 on testimony? This site is really fun! I love when people share great ideas.
Thanks, Heidi! Maybe you could adapt this idea for the lesson:

Do you have any ideas for lesson 20? I am teaching it this Sunday. Thanks!
I don’t have anything specific for lesson 20 – but there seems to be a lot of good material to work with in the lesson!
Love your site!! Do you have any ideas for Lesson 28: Resisting Sin? I am teaching that lesson in a couple of weeks and having a hard time finding good ideas.
I don’t have anything for lesson 28 off the top of my head. Have you checked Sugardoodle?

I love your site and always check it when it is my turn to teach. Any ideas for lesson 23? Thanks!!
Glad you come often, Stacy! One of the supplementary talks for lesson 23 is President Monson’s talk on charity:

I did a VT lesson with this message, tied to a bottle of homemade window cleaner. Who knows? Maybe the girls would be intrigued with it? You can see it here:

Thank you!!!!
Any great ideas for lesson 31?
Thank you!!
Stacy – I didn’t do anything very creative with this lesson. I read parts from President Monson’s talk (http://www.lds.org/ensign/2010/05/preparation-brings-blessings?lang=eng), and we just chatted about the girls’ dating experiences, and brainstormed some fun ideas for future dates. (This was for my Laurel class.)
Thank you…..it is always helpful to get other ideas and ways to approach the lesson. I really appreciate your help.
me encanta auque me gustaria que tambien este en español su pag magnifica y de gran ayuda 😀
I don’t teach on a regular basis, but seeing your amazing ideas makes me wish I could teach every week.
I’m preparing for Lesson 41 The Ability to Succeed & would love to see your idea.
Kari – I didn’t teach this lesson, but the first idea that comes to mind is to do some kind of an acrostic poem with the word “success” – using words or phrases from the lesson pertaining to our abilities to succeed in life as a result of knowing who we are and understanding our worth.
I am looking for ideas to go with lesson #44 Using Time Wisely. If you have any ideas I would love to get them. I love your ideas!
Any great ideas for lesson 46 Purpose and value of education?
Thanks
Stacy – here is a past VT aid idea that might be fun: http://inkablinka.com/2009/07/lifelong-learning.html
Thank you very much! I love it.
