Young Women Class Presidency Agendas

We have been discussing ways to help our Young Women have more effective class presidency meetings, which would give them more meaningful opportunities to serve one another. I went through their responsibilities in the Church Handbook, and tried to list some ideas to help them identify the needs of the girls in their class, and to come up with specific ways to serve those needs:

□  Who was not at church on Sunday or missed a mutual night activity?

□  Can we send notes, emails, or phone calls to tell them we missed them?

□  Does anyone need a reminder or special invitation to attend YW?

□  Who is strugglng with friends, school or family? (Keep confidences!)

□  How might we lighten their load and/or brighten their day?

□  Who is having a birthday soon? Can we do something special for them?

□  How can we extend a special welcome to a new class member?

□  Who is struggling with Personal Progress? How can we help her?

□  How can we help each young woman succeed in Personal Progress?

□  Who seems lonely in your class? How can we show friendship to her?

□  Is there a standard or gospel principle we need to talk about in class?

This list tops a meeting agenda, which you can download here. A black and white version is here. It also has a YW agenda for small units that combine class presidencies into one.

I would encourage the girls to take a class list and an agenda home before the meeting, and to think and pray about each young woman while going over this list. The presidency could then come to the meeting to discuss any thoughts they had about serving and loving those under their stewardship.

These are such a good idea. I work with a small branch and so we just have one overall presidency for the YW. Is there any way I can edit them? Or could you make a generic YW sheet? You always have great ideas, and I appreciate that you share them with all of us. Thanks!

I love your agendas and so helpful for teaching leadership. I was wondering if you are doing to do a new version to add to it “picking lessons” for the upcoming month for the new course helping the young women have a part in selecting the lessons that would best be suited for their needs. Would love to see that added, if possible. Thank you for sharing your talents

Thank you so much for sharing. This a great idea. I think often times the girls don’t know how/what to talk about when discussing Class Members needs, that they will often skip over the most important part of the meeting. This gives them some questions to ask tostart discussing the needs of each member. I love it and really appreciate it.
