What is Visiting Teaching?
One of the ways that we reach out and fellowship other women in the (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) congregation is through visiting teaching. Every woman has designated visiting teachers (usually two, in a companionship) who visit or call regularly, ideally at least once a month. This inspired program links each woman to other women in her congregation. It can create friendships, provide opportunities to serve, and help everyone involved learn about and grow closer to our Savior, Jesus Christ. What is Personal Progress?
Personal Progress is an achievement program designed to help young women ages 12-18 strengthen their testimonies of Jesus Christ, strengthen both their present and future families, prepare to be worthy to make and keep sacred temple covenants, and to prepare for their future roles and responsibilities. There are eight values for which experiences and projects are completed: Faith, Divine Nature, Individual Worth, Knowledge, Choice and Accountability, Good Works, Integrity and Virtue.
