EFY, or Especially for Youth, is held every summer in locations all over North America – a week-long session of classes, devotionals, dances and fun. I attended a few sessions as a youth, and had wonderful experiences making friends and building my testimony. My oldest is going to her first EFY next month, and she cannot wait! I was given the opportunity to review this year’s Especially for Youth CD, “Arise and Shine Forth”, and to also give away one album copy! This is a great album – my first thought was, “perfect music for mutual slideshows!”, and my next thought was, “some of these songs are so beautiful they are making me cry.” For example, go here and listen to track 6 – “I feel My Savior’s Love”. Such a beautiful rendition. Next listen to track 9 – “See it in Everyone”, which may be my favorite on the album. So peppy and happy, and I love the message in the lyrics.

I would LOVE to get this CD!! I have 6 children still at home, 3 are teenagers, and am a leader in Young Women’s. I would say that I would like to have the CD for them, but I love the music as much (I think more than) as they do, so it would be enjoyed by many!!

I’m torn. I think I would like it for me. I’m always looking for new inspirational music to listen to. But, I think it might be great to use during lessons as well.
I love the EFY cds, all of my brothers and sisters had a couple different ones and I miss them now that I am married. I would like to expand my own collection so that my kids have something fun/spiritual to listen to in the car.

I would love it for myself. I am a convert to the Church and never had the blessing of going to EFY. I love to listen to uplifting music and this would be great.
I am a YW president in the UK and have one YW daughter at the moment, but I would use the CD for the girls at church. We don’t have the option of EFY this year, so they would have to travel from England to America to get to go. Such a shame 🙁 I saved up and sent my 2 older daughters to EFY in Provo when they were 16 and they both loved it.)

I would love this CD.. I’ve tried to collect all the EFY CD’s I can get my hands on. The music is always gorgeous and it helps me feel the spirit if I ever feel blue.
I’m really grateful that I was able to attend this conference when I was 17. It was one of the most awesome experiences ever, a huge testimony builder!

I would LOVE to have this album for my whole family…and the YW in our ward. I have 1 MiaMaid, 1 Teacher, and 2 Beehives. This would be something good for all of them. Plus, I’m a counselor in YW and have the biggest vehicle, so usually chauffeur to off-site activities (temple trips, camp, stake firesides, etc). This would be a better alternative to the radio for background music while traveling to youth events.

2nd – Would love this CD…for myself and would share with others. 🙂 My daughter is especially musical and has an appreciation for good music.

I’ve been serving in the YW for some capacity for the last 5 years (since I graduated HS). I LOVE it. I will be extremely sad when my time in there is over. But there aren’t plans to change this anytime soon thankfully. I’m always looking for good music to share with the YW and this would be perfect to add to my collection.

I would definitely keep this for me. I’ve always adored EFY music. My brother first came home with a CD when I was about 10 and I feel they’ve been a part of my spiritual upbringing.

I would LOVE this for myself!! However, I think if I won the CD, I would give it to my wonderful mother. She listens to nothing but CDs. She collects EFY CDs like nobody’s business! My father is also now the stake patriarch and he always has my mother’s CDs playing during the day and even up until guests come so the spirit comes and stays in the home.

I would keep this CD, but of course use it for my sweet kids (ages 3 & 1) who love music and for my YW. We’re trying to improve our reverence, especially during opening exercises, and we’re finding the best way to bring the Spirit is definitely through music. This would be a great addition for us all! I would either keep it for myself – I went to EFY 5 summers as a teen and was a counselor 1 summer as a young adult – or I would give it to my teenage brother and sister.
