What is Visiting Teaching? One of the ways that we reach out and fellowship other women in the (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) congregation is through visiting teaching. Every woman has designated visiting teachers (usually two, in a companionship) who visit or call regularly, ideally at least once a month. This inspired program links each woman to other women in her congregation. It can create friendships, provide opportunities to serve, and help everyone involved learn about and grow closer to our Savior, Jesus Christ.
What is Personal Progress?Personal Progress is an achievement program designed to help young women ages 12-18 strengthen their testimonies of Jesus Christ, strengthen both their present and future families, prepare to be worthy to make and keep sacred temple covenants, and to prepare for their future roles and responsibilities. There are eight values for which experiences and projects are completed: Faith, Divine Nature, Individual Worth, Knowledge, Choice and Accountability, Good Works, Integrity and Virtue.

Twinkle installed her own elf door last night. We actually found this door in a closet when we moved into our home. I’d like to think the previous owners left it behind as a welcoming gift. I’m so glad it’s … Continue reading
Twinkle came across another two wisemen last night. They were so kind as to show her the gifts they brought for the baby Jesus. This was another treasure we brought home from our time in the Middle East – a … Continue reading
Twinkle propped herself up to play some favorite Christmas songs on our keyboard last night. Have you seen the LDS Christmas Songbook? It is one of my favorite things, with hymns and traditional carols alongside their history and beautiful artwork.
This ornament was inspired by the star from our recent ornament exchange. It is fairly simple, but requires a few jewelry-making tools to complete. This is what you’ll need: 4 x 6″ piece of wood finishing nails 20 gauge silver … Continue reading
Twinkle found the temple ornament we made yesterday, and started dreaming about going there someday. Check back for a tutorial on making the ornament. (Want to know more about LDS temples?)
This morning Twinkle was found next to a wise man, still on his journey to find the newborn King. Being inspired by the gift he had in hand, Twinkle prepared small packages of sweets for us and placed them in … Continue reading
Twinkle didn’t move far last night – just to the other side of the nativity. She did gather up the stable animals, though, and and got them glitteringly groomed. I love seeing the nativity come together a bit at a … Continue reading
Made reindeer cookies for caroling tonight. They are adorable and delicious.
